How it began
Hoedies & Herholdt began as a humble dream born from necessity in 2013. Salomé Herholdt, the founder, faced the financial challenges of university fees and tough times but was determined to create a brighter future. While working at a mango drying facility in Hoedspruit, she recognized an opportunity to bring the wholesome goodness of dried mangoes to those around her. With grit and entrepreneurial spirit, she started selling dried mangoes to friends and family in Pretoria. What began as a small effort to supplement her income quickly became something much more—a labor of love that resonated with those who valued quality and care.
By 2020, Salomé’s passion for her venture and her dedication to offering nutritious products led her to expand the brand to include nuts, officially marking the beginning of Hoedies & Herholdt as a flourishing family-run business. Today, this once-small sideline has grown into a trusted name that stands for quality, affordability, and heart.
